Mains’l Employees Volunteer in Wake of Flood Evacuations in California

Extreme rainfall has led to an emergency situation in north-central California — and Mains’l employees are stepping up to make a difference. Nearly 200,000 people from Oroville, Calif. and the surrounding area have been evacuated due to the unstable auxiliary spillway of the Oroville Dam. The threatened region is only 40 miles from the Mains’l office in Chico, Calif.

Mains’l employees are acting as guides for hundreds of displaced people who are being housed at Chico’s Silver Dollar Fair Grounds. These staff members, a part of the company’s Bus Guides program, have been meeting people as they arrive on public transit and helping them find resources and navigate through the chaos.

In support of our employees and the thousands affected by this disaster, Mains’l is collecting donations at our Chico, Calif. location. Please consider donating socks, underwear of all sizes, bath towels and rain ponchos during office hours (9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.)
