Our Work in Zimbabwe
Watch a recap from our 2024 trip.
Since 2011, Mains’l has collaborated with locally-led organizations in rural Zimbabwe, helping to drive lasting change in the local communities.
As part of our culture of giving, we work alongside the Mother Africa Trust (MAT) to support the Ethandweni Children’s Home, the Dete Old Age Home in Zimbabwe, food and water supplies, and conservation efforts, including the MAT anti-poaching unit. We also partner with the MATTER Career Readiness Institute (MCRI) and the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit.
Each year, employees have the chance to join our annual trip to Zimbabwe, gaining leadership experience and a global perspective while working alongside and supporting the Hwange, Matopos, and Victoria Falls communities. During these trips, our crew contributes to a range of impactful initiatives, from supporting local farmers to conservation efforts, leaving a lasting positive impact on the communities they serve, as well as themselves.
About Our Partner Organizations
We currently partner with three organizations in Zimbabwe, working toward sustainable development, conservation, and economic empowerment.
Mother Africa Trust supports rural communities in Zimbabwe by promoting eco-tourism and conservation, addressing issues like poaching and wildlife-human conflict. Meanwhile, MCRI, an extension of the MATTER Innovation Hub (MIH) program, equips young Zimbabweans with remote tech skills, connecting them to global job opportunities that help strengthen the local economy.
In addition, the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit is dedicated to protecting Zimbabwe’s wildlife through active anti-poaching efforts and community involvement, preserving the country’s natural landscape. We also extend our support to Ethandweni Children’s Home, offering assistance where needed and fostering a nurturing environment for children through daily activities and shared time together, when in Zimbabwe.

Building Tech Careers with Mains’l Solutions and MATTER
The Mains’l Solutions intern program equips young professionals with essential tech skills through comprehensive education and training. In partnership with MATTER, interns receive guidance and support in areas like business analysis, software testing, and UI/UX design, preparing them for remote tech roles.
By building skills that allow them to work from their communities, interns gain hands-on experience and participate in workshops on the software development life cycle, showcasing their commitment and adaptability as they pursue meaningful careers.
