One of my all-time favorite Chuck moments truly highlights the zest for life that he had and the way he enjoyed sharing experiences with loved ones and friends. It was New Years Eve 2013, and I had the privilege of being invited to the Jakway-Williams household to celebrate. Chuck suggested we engage in the time-honored tradition of burning the Christmas Tree (they always had a huge majestic one in their living room.) So there we were dragging the tree across the snow and ice covering Bald Eagle Lake, pouring diesel fuel all over it, and lighting it up. Chuck watched from the patio and recorded the whole thing on his phone; his heartfelt cackling was so infectious and I couldn’t help but laugh alongside him. It was a special moment that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
