Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are responsible for direct care and supports to the consumers in a respectful manner. Their duties include, but are not limited to, documentation on program data sheets, medication sheets, log notes, communication notes, health progress notes, assisting and maintaining cleanliness of the home, assisting in cooking healthy balanced meals in accordance with the house menus, transportation of consumers to their activities, and assisting them in normalization in a safe manner.
Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited, to having previous direct care experience, the ability to pass a DHS background study and driving record check, must have a valid drivers license and current automobile insurance.
Qualified individuals must be able to treat consumers with dignity and respect at all times, must be able to work effectively under limited supervision, have the ability to complete basic arithmetic functions as well as conducting and recording financial transactions accurately. Applicants must be able to write and communicate narrative accounts to supervisor with grammatical and spelling accuracy.
Support Coordinators (SC) are responsible for the day to day operations of a home as well as supervising direct care staff. The duties of a SC include, but are not limited to, grocery shopping, daily administration of the home, scheduling, direct care, ordering medications, taking consumers to medical appointments, and ensuring that normalization is occurring, ensuring the constant implementation of programs and services. This person must have the ability to act as a role model and coach for the team.
Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, previous direct care experience, previous supervisory experience, the ability to pass a DHS background study and driving record check, must have a valid drivers license, have the ability to work effectively under limited supervision, meet the needs to maintain budgets, be able to accurately assist and record financial transactions, and have the ability to do basic arithmetic functions. Managers (M) are responsible for providing leadership to all program employees at the site(s) using team based management techniques. This position also performs designated coordinator functions using Personal Outcomes philosophy and standards and outcome based quality standards, manages all site operations in an efficient and timely manner, and provides direct care using Creating Positive Environment tenets. This position oversees several staff members and up to four in-home consumers, or a caseload of hourly, in-home consumers.
Qualifications for this position includes a four-year degree in a field relating to service provision and one year work experience with consumers who have developmental disabilities, or a two-year degree in the field related to service provisions and two years of work experience with consumers who have developmental disabilities. This position requires supervisory skills acquired by a minimum of one-year experience in a supervisory position.
The qualified applicant will possess strong written and oral communication skills. In addition, the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships, work independently with minimal instruction, ability to practice team based management, ability to balance requirements of multiple and varied duties, and the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations are required. Must possess strong computer skills.
